Are you a boy or a girl?
I'm whatever you want me to be~

What program do you use?
I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 to create everything.

Do you use a tablet?
Yes, I use a Bamboo Fun (Medium). I've had it for 3 years and it hasn't let me down.

Any advice for people wanting to start their own nuzlocke comics?
You can check out these helpful guides I made below (but I personally think I'm the world's worst teacher, so don't take my word as law):

Nuzlocke Guide: Part 1 - Introduction by YinDragon Nuzlocke Guide: Part 2 - Creating Characters by YinDragon Nuzlocke Guide: Part 3 - Story Planning by YinDragon Nuzlocke Guide: Part 4 - Comic Pages by YinDragon

Can you read / critique my nuzlocke comic?
Between work and family, I'm very limited on free time--and what free time I do have, I try to utilize by working on updates--so there's very little left over for me to look at every new nuzlocke people show me. ;(

Can I Skype you?
Truthfully, I'm a very quiet, private person irl, and I usually stream when I feel like being social. If you frequent my streams enough, there's a chance I may give out my Skype name if asked, but don't be surprised if I'm not very talkative.

What's your favorite pokemon?

Do you role-play?
I used to RP way back when, but unfortunately my RPing days are over. Now, almost all of my free time is devoted to my art, so please don't ask me to join your RP group or OCT.

What's that music you play during your livestreams?
Yin's Epic Playlist!

Have you beaten the game yet?
Yes, I completed my FireRed run before I started the comic.

How frequently do you update?
I try to update at least once a week, but it normally takes me anywhere between 1 to 3 weeks to complete a page.

How long does it take to make a comic page?
Altogether, it can take anywhere between 15 to 20 hours (depending on complexity).

Do you color the pages in grey-scale or color?
I purposely color the pages in grey-scale to give them a manga feel, and because it's more efficient than color.

Can the starter pokemon talk?
No, they can't--not because they're mute, but because they choose not to.

Did you really catch a clefairy in FireRed?
Yes, I did. And you can read the full explanation here.

Did you have Ken's story planned before creating Kick@$$ Mode, or are you making it up as you go along?
Ken is an old RP character I created in college. His story has existed for awhile, and I had plans of turning it into an actual fanfic one day, but never did. When I decided to use his story for a nuzlocke comic, I had to tweak a few details to fit the FR/LG plot, but the key elements remained unchanged. :)

How did you come up with Ken's design?
Ken was originally designed to be a parody of anime heroes, and I used characters such as Tai (Digimon), Cloud (FFVII), and Goku (DBZ) for inspiration. And yes, I'm aware that Ken bears a close resemblance to Reno / Axel, but that was unintentional.

How old is Ken?
Ken is presently 18 years old (and mentally 8). Gary and Daisy are also 18 (they're twins in my comic).

Doesn't Ken make any money off of trainer battles?
The Kick@$$ universe works a lot like the anime, where winning a battle doesn't necessarily mean you win the opponent's money. Trainers can still bet on battles, but it doesn't always happen.

Is Ken actually mewtwo?
I've already denied the "Ken is mewtwo" theory numerous times. He's not a mewtwo or a mewthree or a mew-anything. And while we're at it, he isn't Silver either. Sorry to disappoint~

How do all the characters have such fabulous hair?
They all use F-U-Gravity Hairspray (tm)!

Have you ever thought of drawing gijinkas of your characters?
I've done a few drawings already, but gijinkas really aren't my thing.

Can I draw fan art or cameo one of your characters in my comic?
I encourage it! So long as you give credit, of course~

Will there be a sequel to Kick@$$ Mode?
I originally had ideas for a sequel with Daisy as the main character, either in HeartGold or SoulSilver. But seeing as the current comic will take me roughly 4 to 5 years to complete, I doubt it's gonna happen.

Update: First of all, I want to apologize. I posted this journal a week ago promising an update soon, and here we are with no update. I was supposed to have a bunch of free time all week, but by some unforeseeable circumstances, I ended up crazy busy anyway. So since I can't seem to keep promises thanks to my unpredictable life, I'll just say that I AM still drawing the page, and it'll be up as soon as possible.

Thanks for hanging in there, everyone!

Hey, guys!

The comic page is still coming along, if somewhat slowly. Truth be told, my update speed has been suffering a bit these last couple months because I had picked up a bunch of extra hours at my job (I didn't really want to say anything because I thought I could handle it), so my energy level has been pretty kaput lately. But there IS a bit of good news: I'm back to my old work schedule, and therefore I have a lot more free time to draw!

And by some crazy stroke of luck, I actually ended up with the past 5 days off. And what did I do with those 5 days? Only have the biggest, most intense video game binge all year! :dummy:

So yeah, not much progress this week... But! I AM working on the page as we speak, so expect it up within the next couple days!

Also, I've recently been playing with the idea of taking money commissions because I've been steadily saving up for a trip to see this assmunch--> :iconloki-wings: I haven't really thought of pricing or anything yet, but I'm curious if anyone would actually be interested in paying me for my "skills". It'd be a rare opportunity since I never take art commissions. ;x

Anyway, I appreciate your patience. You guys stay awesome~

Hey there! I just read your Nuzlocke guides, and I'm really pleased at the tips, and motivated at them too.

"Hoo boy, so I guess that makes you want to make a Nuzlocke comic too, huh?"

Well, NO, maybe not at the moment, but for the most part, it has made me think a bit about how I can manage my comic run.
For starters, I have an ongoing Pokemon series that I started about October 2013, but I'm just up to my fifth page. For a while, I was wondering "Why am I not getting more views?" After some vigorous investigation and research, I found out why I was not getting any: my progress is not consistent. I keep on submitting each page one month apart. Plus, I've had to deal with a lot of time management in my life, and I feel drawing takes up a lot of my time, even though I looooove doing it.

Therefore I've up with a solution to this dilemma (and it's an option I've been trying to steer away from):
I'm going to type out the story like a novel instead of drawing it in entirety. But the difference with this is: it's not going to be just black text on a white sheet like what I'm typing on, I may use different colours, effects and other graphic effects on the words to try and get the readers to envision the course of action that takes place. I may add in a drawing or two of the pokemon characters and even background to emphasize something that I feel needs to be emphasized.
So what do you think? Do you have any advice and suggestion for this? And I've got some plot pointers that I'd like to share with you too.
